Porsche Carrera GT Accident

ESI was retained to investigate an accident of a Porsche Carrera GT. The Porsche Carrera GT is a rare $440,000 sports car. The accident occurred on a famous U.S. racetrack. ESI was asked to reconstruct the accident and evaluate the vehicle dynamics. ESI surveyed the accident site, inspected the vehicle, and performed engineering and vehicle dynamics calculations. An HVE (Human, Vehicle, and Environment) simulation was executed that matched the path and dynamics of the vehicle for more than 600 feet of its travel. An animation was created to show the accident from many perspectives.
